Vascular Malformations

Introduction

Vascular malformations are abnormal growths or connections between vascular structures. These anomalies can involve arteries, veins or lymphatic vessels in isolation, or involve various combinations of these vessels.

Signs and Symptoms

While vascular malformations cover a wide range of conditions and severity, most are benign and asymptomatic in otherwise healthy individuals. The majority do not require intervention.

Investigation

  • Ultrasound.
  • CT Angiography.
  • MR Angiography.

Treatments

Possible treatments include surgery, pain management, embolization and sclerotherapy.
